Some not happy with movie filming
SOME RESIDENTS IN SOUTHEAST ALBUQUERQUE ARE PREPARING FOR BATTLE AGAINST HOLLYWOOD MOVIE PRODUCERS OF GAME ARE PLANNING ON TURNING A RACING TRACK INTO A WARZONE AND THAT HAS SOME NEIGHBORS FIRED UP JEFF MAHER TALKED TO BOTH SIDES HE S LIVE NEAR BUENA VISTA AND CESAR CHAVEZ NEXT MONTH THIS B-M-X TRACK WILL BECOME A NOISY AND EXPLOSIVE BATTLEGROUND FOR THREE STRAIGHT DAYS AND NIGHTS FILM PRODUCERS OF GAME SAY AN OVERWHELMING MAJORITY OF THE DOZENS OF NEIGHBORS THIS WILL AFFECT SUPPORT THE IDEA - BUT OTHERS JUST WANT SOME PEACE AND QUIET we re not going to go anyplace we re going to stay right here RETIRED ALBUQUERQUE POLICE OFFICER TONY HERNANDEZ AND HIS WIFE SAY THEY RE NOT GOING TO LET THE LOUD NOISES OF A MOVIE PRODUCTION FORCE THEM OUT OF THEIR HOME well it s a good thing that we have a den towards the back over there LAST WEEK EMPLOYEES OF GAME ONE OF THE LARGEST MOVIE PRODUCTIONS TO BE FILMED IN ALBUQUERQUE PASSED OUT THESE FORMS TO NEIGHBORS OF THIS B-M-X TRACK THE FORM STATES THAT FOR THREE DAYS IN NOVEMBER - SCENES WILL BE FILMED AT THE TRACK BETWEEN THE HOURS OF 3 P-M AND 7 A-M - AND WARNS OF WHAT S TO COME - INCLUDING A BATTLE SEQUENCE MOTORCROSS SIMULATED FULL- LOAD GUNFIRE EXPLOSIONS STUNTS AND SPECIAL EFFECTS BUT THOSE NEIGHBORS HAVE AN OPTION the residents are being offered a hotel room and they re being offered fifty dollars per diem per person and most people are pretty excited about getting to have this CITY OFFICIALS SAY MOST PEOPLE TOOK THE OFFER AND SUPPORT THE FILMING BOB FAULKNER S JUMPY DOG MAY OPPOSE IT BUT HE HAS NO PROBLEM WITH IT if they re right up front with it I don t know what else you can ask for really and we re very sorry that the film is inconveniencing some of these people and we re thrilled that we re getting such a positive response from the neighborhood I SPOKE WITH THE EXECUTIVE PRODUCER OF THE FILM - HE SAYS HE HOPES PEOPLE WILL REALIZE THE ECONOMIC BENEFITS THE MOVIE IS BRINGING TO ALBUQUERQUE - RATHER THAN THE MINOR INCONVENIENCES LIVE IN SOUTHEAST ALBUQUERQUE JEFF MAHER EYEWITNESS NEWS FOUR TONIGHT WE ASK
